HILTON SURFERS PARADISE OPENS ITS DOORS

THE new $700 million Hilton Surfers Paradise development has opened for business.

Mixing the energy of Surfers Paradise with famous Hilton style, the hotel boasts 169 guest rooms and 250 long-term residences with up to three bedrooms.

Also in the mix at the hotel’s modern lounge bar FIX, Grant Collins has served up cocktails to celebrities including Madonna, Kate Moss, Elton John, Russell Crowe and the Beckhams.

Hotel general manager David Kelly says the design gives more flexible and spacious holiday options.

“The facilities at Hilton Surfers Paradise are so diverse that you can enjoy time with your family in the comfort of a spacious residence one weekend – and return another time as a couple for a romantic break and enjoy the serenity of a guest room,” he says.

“Our self-contained residences include full kitchens, laundry facilities, as well as separate living and dining spaces – and are ideal for families, groups or anyone looking beyond the traditional hotel for superb accommodation.

“Guests at our residences also have access to all the services of the hotel including in-room dining, mini bar, daily housekeeping, valet parking, 24-hour reception and concierge.”

Celebrity chef Luke Mangan has opened culinary restaurant Salt grill. The open-plan kitchen offers direct interaction with the chefs while guests are served.

A gourmet market place and European-style delicatessen, the Food Store stocks exclusive cheeses, Artesian bread baked in-house, organic yoghurts and natural ice cream, among others.

The eforea spa combines three distinct treatment categories for men and women, using practices from Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

Serviced by poolside valets, the deck covers 1500 sq m with four stylish pools, spa, sauna, picnic area, outdoor terrace and barbecue pavilions.

There is a ballroom fitted with audio-visual technology with a maximum guest capacity of 350. There are also outdoor event spaces, a business centre, theatre, boardrooms and an executive lounge giving 270-degree views of the city.

Single-bedrooms start from $259 and a hotel room costs at least $279 per night.
