Gold Coast Airport Celebrates Qantas Club Opening

Gold Coast Airport is today celebrating the official opening of the new Qantas Club Lounge.

The lounge opening follows the successful return of Qantas to the Gold Coast in October this year.

Gold Coast Airport Chief Operating Officer Paul Donovan said the new facility will be a welcome addition for the growing business and premium travel market.

“It’s wonderful to see the return of a Qantas Club Lounge at Gold Coast Airport and along with Qantas we are confident that the lounge will prove successful.

“The business and premium travel market on the Gold Coast has long expressed a desire to see Qantas and the Qantas Club Lounge return to the region, and the passenger numbers since the airline’s October commencement speak for themselves.

“We’ve been working closely with Qantas in a bid to fast track the construction process in time to meet peak Christmas travel demand, meaning Qantas passengers can take full advantage of the new facility as they head off on their Christmas break.

“We congratulate Qantas on the success of their Sydney-Gold Coast service to date, and are thrilled to be able to provide our passengers with an additional premium lounge offering,” Mr Donovan said.

Qantas currently operate a three times daily service between Sydney and the Gold Coast.

Gold Coast Airport is also home to a Virgin Australia Lounge, which opened in May this year.
