MACDONNELLS TRIO IN RUNNING FOR PARTNER OF THE YEAR

TWO Brisbane-based partners from MacDonnells Law are in the running for the inaugural Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year awards, to be hosted in Sydney next month.

Partner Luckbir Singh (pictured) has been named a finalist in the commercial category, with local government advisory, native title and cultural heritage lawyer Jenny Humphris also in the running for the Government Partner of the Year award.

Cairns-based Eleanor Scott will also be vying for the title of Government Partner of the Year alongside Humphris.

MacDonnells Law general manager Sheree Parlapiano says the trio are consistent performers within their fields, with a dedicated work ethic they imbue to their own teams within the firm.

"Regardless of the eventual winners, the fact that Luckbir, Eleanor and Jenny have been shortlisted as finalists in the national award is a testament to their exceptional performance," says Parlapiano.

"Their shortlisting also recognises the efforts of their respective legal and support teams and the calibre of our firm, and we are all very proud of this achievement."

Singh has practiced with MacDonnells for 16 years, primarily in the areas of commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporations law.

At the age of 28, he was made the youngest modern-day partner in the firm's 132-year history.

Jenny Humphris (above) joined the ranks at MacDonnells in 1994 and has been recognised in the Doyles listings 2016 as one of the country's leading native title lawyers.

Recently appointed the firm's government practice group leader in Cairns, Scott (right) has been with the firm since 2007.

Winners of the awards will be announced on April 28.
