INFINITUS CHINA TO TAKE A RECORD $50 MILLION COAST HOLIDAY

AROUND 8,000 international delegates will flock to the Gold Coast next May, as Chinese personal healthcare giant Infinitus hosts its holiday incentive program for top-performing employees.

During their six-day stay, Infinitus delegates are pegged to inject a whopping $50 million into the local tourism economy, with the group representing the largest ever business event cohort secured for the city.

According to Gold Coast Tourism CEO Martin Winter, the incentive program will be designed to inspire guests and promote the city's best face.

"The Gold Coast is a destination in high demand with proven expertise in hosting Business Events that deliver extraordinary experiences," says Winter.

"The city has a winning and diverse combination of pristine beaches, spectacular hinterland and exceptional infrastructure.

"This is a significant win for the Gold Coast and we look forward to showcasing the very best of our Australian lifestyle."

Queensland Minister for Tourism and Major Events Kate Jones says the Infinitus event is a coup for Chinese tourism in the state, and the beginning of a significant market spike.

"This is a great example of collaboration between Tourism and Events Queensland, Tourism Australia and Gold Coast Tourism to secure a major business event for the state," says Jones.

"The Infinitus China program will bring thousands of Chinese business delegates to Queensland and showcase our diverse tourism experiences to the growing China market."

In FY15-16, Gold Coast Tourism secured a record 69 business event wins, representing a combined contribution of $71 million to the city purse.
