TECH COMPANY LAUNCHES 'SMARTCHIP' AGAINST RADIATION

LIF3 GLOBAL has launched its Smartchip to reduce mobile phone radiation nationally.

The Smartchip redirects radiation away from the head instead of providing a shield, lowering the radiation specific absorption rate (SAR) emitted from mobile phones by up to 95 per cent.

The concept is based on Cellsafe technology designed by radio frequency engineer Aaron Leibovich over the past five years.

Lif3 Global CEO Don Small says mobile phone usage has increased over the past 10 years, particularly in children aged between 12 and 17.

He says global studies indicate prolonged mobile phone usage has been linked to a range of negative health consequences, including increased risk of brain cancer, breast cancer, reduction of male fertility, Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

"Mobile phones play a central role in all of our lives now and that is not about to change any time soon," Small says.

"We are using them more often and longer than ever before but what is more concerning is we are using them from a younger age and more prolifically.

"We know mobile devices emit electromagnetic radiation and it is well documented. There is enough evidence that shows that increased exposure to non-ionising radiation, as emitted by mobile devices, has detrimental effects if held close to our bodies for long periods."

The Lif3 Smartchip is the only product of its kind designed to suit each model of mobile phone, using several layers of microwave absorbing materials.
