JUPITERS' KIYOMI PROVES TO BE A CUT ABOVE

CHASE Kojima's Gold Coast experiment has paid off with the Sydney-based owner of Sokyo winning a best new restaurant award for Kiyomi at Jupiters casino.

Kojimi, who opened the modern Japanese noshery late last year after making a name for himself at The Star in Sydney, has knocked out the likes of The Farmhouse Pialligo Estate in Canberra and Pastuso in Melbourne to take the gong at the 2015 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering National Awards for Excellence.

Kiyomi first gained industry recognition claiming a prestigious Chef's Hat at the 2016 Brisbane Times Good Food Guide Awards and has also attracted world-class recognition, winning a coveted place on the shortlist for the prestigious International Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2015.

Serving a modern, yet distinctly Japanese menu crafted by Kojima, Kiyomi has been labelled by many as a cutting-edge dining experience.

The restaurant celebrates the act of shared dining with an 'Izakaya-style' menu and a beverage menu including a wide variety of Japanese tap and bottled beers, sake, shochu cocktails and Japanese whiskies.

Echo Entertainment Group (ASX:EGP) Queensland managing director Geoff Hogg says the national win has been the 'icing on the cake' for a big year at Jupiters as the property prepares for the next stage of its $345 million redevelopment."It's been incredible to see such great results from our new dining experiences over the past 12 months," he says.

When complete, Echo's redevelopment of Jupiters will include a new six-star luxury hotel suite tower that will target premium punters.
