EVOCCA COLLEGE HEADS TO APPLE ISLE

TRAINING organisation Evocca College continues to expand its national footprint, with a new campus set to launch in Tasmania.

The Brisbane-based company will open in Glenorchy and offer diploma-level courses in business, administration and management.

Evocca College has 40 campuses across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, and plans to enter South Australia and Western Australia in the next few months.

CEO Craig White says Evocca College targeted Tasmania as the next interstate move, after recognising a gap in the market.

"The need for more flexible learning options was also a key factor in our decision to launch in the state," White says.

"Quite often time and competing priorities are what prevent people from pursuing further qualifications, but our education model resolves the issue."

The new campus will allow the education provider to reach members of the community looking to obtain a qualification or pursue a pathway to university.

The unemployment rate recorded in Genorchy was 9.8 per cent in December last year.

Evocca College state manager Jason Rogers says the goal is to equip students with new skills to enter the labour force.

"Most people don't want to be unemployed but are lacking the skills and qualifications needed to secure work," Rogers says.

"This is where Evocca can provide an invaluable service, not just in helping them to gain their diploma, but in preparing them and helping them to develop the personal skills and business nous required to succeed in identifying employment opportunities and effectively seizing them."

Evocca College Glenorchy will open on July 27.
