HIGHGATE HILL'S FACELIFT

HIGHGATE HILL'S FACELIFT
HIGHGATE Hill will soon be transformed into Brisbane’s residential vantage point.

A $70-million residential project next to Brisbane’s first residential high-rise, Torbeck, has been given the go-ahead.

This will see the development of The Highgate (artist impression pictured), an eight-storey tower hosting 42 skyline view apartments starting at $1.5 million apiece.

Brisbane developer Pointcorp is behind the development, which director Chris Vitale says will be set apart space-wise and in its details.

“While most apartments are in an urban environment, The Highgate is in its own unique environment,” says Vitale, adding that the tower will only take up 20 per cent of the 4,900 square-metre site to become a “building in a garden”.

To ensure the fit-out complements the advantaged location, Pointcorp has appointed an award-winning team.

Australian chef and television personality Neil Perry will design the kitchens, architect Steve Dunn will transform the landscape, Cottee Parker the architectural design, and Blainey North the interiors.

It will be the first time Perry has privately designed kitchens and will also showcase his new Omega appliance range.

“The kitchen is the interior centrepiece and as cooking should be about enjoyment, it was paramount the kitchen design focused on functionality throughout, while still incorporating a sense of luxury,” says Perry.

Steve Dunn, who has previous experience on projects such as West End and Alex Perry Residential, says the garden will also be a focal point of the development, comprising an upper garden canopy and lower garden pool area.

Development on The Highgate is expected to commence in February 2015.
