GOOGLE INITIATIVE BOOSTS BUSINESS

BRISBANE-based business Paddington Pups has experienced overnight fame, through a new Google marketing initiative.

The ‘doggy day care’ and grooming centre was approached by Google to participate in the Google My Business service.

Paddington Pups later found Google advertisements of the company placed all around Brisbane at 50 different bus shelters and online.

Owner Bree Robbins (pictured) was mind blown by the attention the business received after the two week campaign and says exposure is key to build a client base.

“Our page ranking has been through the roof with more than 20 000 hits from campaign start, the phones are constantly ringing and we have had several new clients coming through the door,” says Robbins.

Robbins is honoured to be part of the initiative and says it is great for small local businesses.

“It is making the search for different services so much easier, which is great for both us and future and current clients.

“With the technology constantly advancing it’s tough for small businesses to get a handle on all of the tools that will best help us reach our customers online,” she says.

Google has also enabled the street view function to allow users to virtually enter and explore the businesses premises.

Robbins says it’s a nice finishing touch and is especially important for Paddington Pups.

“Being a doggy day care, clients often want to inspect our site as they are leaving their beloved pet there.

“We can often be too busy to be able to show them around, making this google feature extremely convenient.”

The campaign features origami art of different shapes including a dog, a top reason why Paddington Pups was contacted by Google.

Nine other small to medium Brisbane businesses will also be featured in the campaign, including a coffee shop, restaurant, bridal store and florist.
