ENERGY DEVELOPMENTS EXTENDS MINE CONTRACT

ENERGY Developments Limited (ASX:ENE) has extended its contract with AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited (AGA) to supply power at its Sunrise Dam Mine.

ENE’s power station capacity will increase by six megawatts to 27MW, extending the contract by 10 years to the end of December 2025.

The energy provider will replace diesel generation with high efficiency medium speed gas generators.

Construction on the new power station facility will coincide with the development of a new gas pipeline, to minimise disruption.

The power station is expected to be operational by the end of 2015.

Managing director Greg Pritchard says the announcement is a testament to the enduring relationship between the two companies.

“The relationship between Energy Developments Limited and AngloGold Ashanti encompasses over 20 years of partnership,” Pritchard says.

“We are delighted to secure the expansion and extension of existing arrangements to meet the current and future energy needs of the Sunrise Dam Mine.”

The Sunrise Dam Mine is located in Western Australia and produces 270,000 ounces of gold annually.
