DYNAMIC EXPANSION

DYNAMIC EXPANSION

AFTER acquiring a 50 per cent stake in hardware IT company XiT Distribution and focusing on expanding operations Australia wide, it has been a good year for IT wholesale company Dynamic Supplies.

Managing director Scott McLennan (pictured), says the acquisition has expanded its products to hardware.

“Xit Distribution is a company we’ve known for a long time, it’s a well run business that has a different product set to ours. The majority of our distribution is ink and toner whereas Xit Distribution is a hardware distributor, so their product set includes laptops, audio-visual and PC’s,” he says.

“The main attraction for us in acquiring a 50 per cent stake in XiT Distribution was its different product set. The company is also based in Brisbane and the plan is to spread them out within Australia. Everything about the company will stay the same including the name; it’s just an opportunity for us to access different products and customers.

“In terms of expanding our own company, we recently opened up a new warehouse in Adelaide and we’re just about to open new premises in Melbourne as well.”

Recycling remains another focus for the business as ink and toner cartridges use a lot of plastic and the ink is oil-based.

“By recycling our products, it allows our customers to adhere to environmental regulations and some companies need to demonstrate they use recycled products, so this is a good way for them to demonstrate that,” says McLennan.

He says the company will consolidate over the next 12 months.

“We’ve been busy over the past year with the expansion and acquisition, so we’ll be focusing on bedding down over the next 12 months. We’ll also be upgrading our internal computer systems and developing a new website,” he says.
