WPIAS CONGRESS BOOKING FAST

LOCAL delegates are urged to secure their spot for this years’ premier financial services event as bookings for the WPIAS Congress 2011 flow in from around Australia.

The two-day program has been developed by Williams Partners Independent Audit Specialists (WPIAS) division My Training Partner (MTP), which specialises in professional development and CPA training.

Following the successful inaugural 2010 event, this year the congress has assembled a diverse range of speakers that according to WPIAS director Michael Plehan is ‘as good as you’ll get anywhere in Australia’.

A myriad of finance executives will deliver the industry-specific training sessions, while keynote speakers including Bravehearts executive director Hetty Johnston, Gold Coast Suns CEO Travis Auld and Gold Coast Titans CEO Michael Searle will detail financial challenges and opportunities in their respective organisations.

“The mandate is to provide a quality, professional development forum with a diversity of speakers and topics that will engage, inspire and inform the 200 delegates expected to attend,” says Plehan.

“There are two types of speakers presenting at the congress, those who will deliver the nuts and bolts, knowledge-based aspect of the event and the key-note speakers who will share experiences, leadership tips and hopefully inspire the audience.

“Keynote guests include Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale and David Power (Power Strategic director and Gold Coast mayoral candidate), whom have been invited to give a holistic economic overview of what’s happening in the micro-economies of the two cities.

“Travis Auld and Michael Searle will provide their respective insights on the sporting juggernauts that are the Gold Coast Suns and the Gold Coast Titans.”

Plehan also describes securing Ord Minnett executive chairman Karl Morris, who will present a financial market update entitled ‘moving on from the GFC and other market tremors’, as a ‘real coup’ for the event.

Several seminar topics will also be explored within the public practice corporate accounting sector and self-managed super funds.

The WPIAS Congress 2011 takes place at the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove from July 14-15.
