THRILL SEEKERS TO SCALE NEW HEIGHTS FOR CHARITY

THRILL SEEKERS TO SCALE NEW HEIGHTS FOR CHARITY

GOLD Coast thrill seekers are bracing themselves to take a leap of faith for charity at the inaugural Abseil for Life event to be held next Saturday 20th May at Metricon Stadium.

Participants will abseil down the iconic stadium's field lighting towers to help raise money on behalf of the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, which will support seriously ill or injured patients at public facilities including the Gold Coast University and Robina Hospitals.

The event is the first of its kind on the Gold Coast, and will feature several activities held over two days (May 19-20) including the abseil, skywalk, zip line and flying fox experiences.

The abseil is a 54-metre journey down the side of one light tower while the flying fox experience involves a diagonal drop from one light tower to the ground. The skywalk and zip line experiences will be held between two light towers.

This is a fundraising initiative, so participants are required to sign up and fundraise using the Every Day Hero page that's already been set up. Also, participants will be rewarded if they increase their fundraising targets by having the opportunity to partake in all 4 experiences.

There will be activities for all of the family, with rock climbing and a jumping castle just some of the free attractions available to enjoy.

Each person who takes part will be raising funds for Gold Coast Hospital Foundation to help purchase lifesaving medical equipment and deliver vital support services for patients and families facing medical challenges and hardship.
