IN a time of continuous technological change, prosperous companies are those that capitalise on technology. Business leaders must consider many influences in the general operating environment before making a managerial decision, but the reality is the power of technology has grown to encompass and exacerbate them all.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates once said that information technology (IT) and business have become ‘inextricably interwoven’.

“I don’t think anybody can talk meaningfully about one without the talking about the other,” he stated.

Attracting the top professionals has become essential for companies when appointing a chief information officer (CIO) and this month’s annual NG CIO Summit has some of the Asia Pacific’s best converging on the Gold Coast.
