RIVERPITCH INVITES STARTUPS

RIVERPITCH INVITES STARTUPS
RIVERPITCH is back, opening applications for its ninth instalment today.

The number of participants are expected to triple in size compared with the previous event last year.

RiverPitch, hosted by Brisbane startup hub River City Labs and founded by tech entrepreneur Steve Baxter, will see up to seven investment-ready teams from all over Australia spruik their wares next month.

Successful candidates could receive up to $1.5 million in funding as they pitch in a social environment with pre-screened entrepreneurs and early stage investors.

River City Labs general manager Josh Anthony (pictured) says he expects attendance to reach 200 people at the May 25 event, after receiving strong backing from investors and other VIPs.

"We've seen a tremendous uplift in interest for RiverPitch from startups and investors all over the country," says Anthony.

"This is a clear testament that RiverPitch plays a pivotal role in supporting the startup ecosystem both in Queensland and now at a national level."

Applications for RiverPitch close on April 29.
