NEW BALLROOM KICKS OFF CROWNE PLAZA SURFERS PARADISE REVAMP

CROWNE Plaza Surfers Paradise has unveiled its newly refurbished ballroom ahead of the festive season, paving the way for a revamp of the property.

The new-look Norfolk Ballroom has been designed to streamline event management, with the capacity to cater to 550 guests.

The space has been equipped with new chandeliers and furnishings, with more than $50,000 invested in the audio visual system.

The 374-room hotel has a number of refurbishments in the works, including the launch of two new dining outlets, a retail wine shop and redeveloped lobby and Relish Bar.

Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise general manager Ian Pirodon says the Norfolk Ballroom is the first step for the property's transformation.

"We're thrilled to see our comprehensive refurbishment plan coming to life with the unveiling of the first phase in the Norfolk Ballroom," Pirodon says.

"With the new additions we're working to further enhance the experience of our guests, whether their stay is for business or leisure.

"It is a very exciting time to be on the Gold Coast and being in the heart of such a thriving city we can't wait to unveil our new dining offerings and our new-look lobby and bar. They will definitely be a destination for travellers and locals alike."

Global Design Concepts (GDC) delivered the Norfolk Ballroom and has been appointed to manage the launch of the two new dining offerings, as well as the refreshed Relish Bar.

GDC senior interior designer Kate Vale says project will be able to offer a range of dining options taking guests from penthouse to poolside.

"While designing for an establishment as iconic as Crowne Plaza, we wanted to ensure that the space we delivered was as iconic as the rest of the property and what would be expected," Vale says.

"The new design is bold enough in its décor to stand alone or can be dressed to host any style - the perfect location to welcome all event styles."

Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise has 14 meeting rooms and over 15,000 square feet of flexible event space to accommodate up to 550 people.
