NAB INVESTS IN NEW BRISBANE HEAD OFFICE

NAB INVESTS IN NEW BRISBANE HEAD OFFICE

NATIONAL Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) has unveiled its new Queensland headquarters in Brisbane's Golden Triangle.

The bank has signed a 10-year lease with Investa Commercial Property Fund (ICPF) for the 8000sqm space at 259 Queen Street.

The building will be renamed NAB Place and receive a $6 million facelift to the lobby, café, concierge and destination lifts.

NAB Enterprise Services and Transformation group executive Renee Roberts says the new fit-out facilitates collaboration.

"This is about creating environments that help our people bring their best to work, so that we can best serve our customers," Roberts says.

"We're investing in high standard facilities for our people and our customers, and ensuring we have the best solutions in place for our future workplace needs."

Designed by Cox Architecture, the refurbishment will connect the 16-level building with the heritage-listed General Post Office using a glass canopy and mezzanine level.

About 650 NAB employees will occupy five floors, reducing its footprint from 11 smaller sized floors at its current 100 Creek Street location.

Investa group executive Michael Cook says the high-calibre investment is a testament to the quality of the building.

"Our team in Brisbane, led by Christine O'Hara, worked closely with NAB to identify their key priorities and deliver a solution that would align with their workplace strategy, now and into the future," Cook says.

Renovations will commence in coming months, with employees expected to relocate in mid-2017.
