Kings of Burleigh

KINGS International College has expanded its land holding on the Gold Coast after paying $4 million for a 12,210 sq m industrial site at Burleigh Heads.

The college is the adult education and training arm of the King’s Group, which was founded in 1980 and incorporates the King’s Christian Centre church and the King’s Christian College.

The college was established in 1996 and has since grown to become one of the leading providers of vocational training in southeast Queensland.

CB Richard Ellis associate director David Corke, negotiated the sale of the 6 Ern Harley Drive site on behalf of US-based audio group Bose. He says the site, one of the largest remaining land parcels in the sought after Burleigh industrial precinct, had attracted strong buyer interest.

“Burleigh is one of the largest established industrial areas on Queensland’s Gold Coast and there is a shortage of available land with main road exposure left to develop in the area,” says Corke.

“The sale represented a unique opportunity for owner occupiers and developers to gain access to one of the larger available sites in this well established precinct.”

The site is significantly underdeveloped, offering one existing building with around 1390 sq m of mostly office space. The site is also within walking distance from the new reedy Creek/Varsity rail station, which is due to be completed in 2010.
