GOOGLE SUPER FOR RETAIL GROUP

GOOGLE SUPER FOR RETAIL GROUP

SUPER retail group has joined other major international retailers and invested in Google’s new product comparison engine.

The aSX-listed retailer, whose brands include Supercheap Auto, BCF, Goldcross Cycles and Ray’s Outdoors, has become a foundation member of the newly-launched Google Product Search platform.

CEO Peter Birtles (pictured) says Google’s new service will enable each of the group’s brands to reach shoppers precisely and offer them products and deals relevant to their needs and budget.

“Australian shoppers will have access to the complete range of products currently available online at the group’s existing e-commerce sites,” he says.

The Google initiative is the latest in a series of moves towards full online integration of the group’s bricks and mortar stores.

Birtles says recognising the value of a multichannel retail model is essential to successful modern retailing.

“The addition of Google Product Search to our suite of channels will enhance our existing online offer and strengthen our multibrand, multichannel retail strategy, while we strive to achieve our vision of being Australasia’s most highly regarded specialty retailer,” he says.
