FLARE HR SET TO SHAKE UP THE WORKPLACE

TECHNOLOGY startup Flare HR has officially launched its bid to overhaul the human resources industry.

HR managers and business owners use the cloud-based system to handle payroll, employee on-boarding, training, internal communications, benefits and superannuation.

The Sydney-based organisation has been developing the software over the past 12 months from fintech hub Stone & Chalk.

Former Hilti Australia managing director Jan Pacas and Park Assist co-founder Daniel Cohen developed the concept, backed by the brains behind quick service restaurant data tool Macromatix Saul Kaplan and Colin Mierowsky.

Pacas says Flare HR was driven by the emergence of digital technologies and an increasingly mobile workforce.

"For the first time ever managers are grappling with four generations, each with their own priorities and interests, working at the same time," Pacas says.

"The HR Industry is being forced to stay vigilant of new ways to get work done, and the arrival of cloud-based software will free professionals and business owners from the shackles of administration, removing such tasks as manually inputting information and sorting through paperwork.

"HR leaders can now spend their time on developing strategy, staff skills and engagement - the things on which brilliant companies are built."

The company supplies the software to SMEs for free, with its revenue stream coming from the delivery of financial services such as superannuation, insurance and novated leasing. Employees will be able to use their own products.

Users can access real-time HR analytics, centralised learning hub to share company announcements and compliance policies and templates.

"We know that great software contributes to a great employee experience, and if companies can use this platform to get the most out of their people by growing engagement and culture, then we know we've done our job," Pacas says.

"This new market of HR applications is not a fad and as employee recruitment and management continues to become a more complicated business, I have no doubt that someday every company will be using these tools."

Westpac Banking Corp's venture capital fund Reinventure Group invested more than $1 million in a seed fundraising round in March.

Flare HR employs 12 full-time staff with plans to grow to a team of 30 this year.
