CLUB PROVIDES EXCLUSIVE HEALTH EXPERIENCE

MEMBERSHIP of an exclusive health retreat at Bundall will now be available only through invitation after the club recently reached a crucial milestone.

It has taken just nine months for Kudos Health Club to enlist 1000 members and trigger the invite-only condition of membership.

Managing director Chris Ruck says is it important to maintain the exclusivity of the luxury executive retreat.

“You can’t walk in off the street and ask to be a member, it is an exclusive club. You either have to be invited or nominated,” says Ruck.

Ruck says the membership will be strictly limited to 1500.

He suggests anyone who is offered a membership in coming weeks should snap it up.

“Once we reach 1500 members, that’s it," he says.

“From then on, one member will have to leave for another to join.”

Kudos Health Club, in Corporate Court at Bundall, opened in July last year. Ruck and co-founder Chris Wells were determined to provide luxurious facilities and settings for members.

Ruck says the club is dedicated to providing an atmosphere where the discerning business executive feels comfortable.

A fit body is a valuable asset to business potential and achieving positive outcomes, says Ruck.

“If you look at the modern business person, experts are finding a direct correlation between a healthy body and a healthy mind,” says Ruck.

Ruck says Kudos members, which include some of the Gold Coast’s highest profile business leaders, enjoy upmarket facilities.

A members’ lounge and café, luxury change rooms, resort-style 25m heated pool and a state of the art cardio centre are at their disposal.

Extra facilities and services that set the club apart include Wi-Fi access, complementary towel service, pay television and iPod docks to listen to personal music or watch movies.

Personal trainers are always available and each new member has a one-on-one meeting with a dietician.

Ruck says the difference between Kudos Health Club and many other clubs is like comparing a luxury vehicle to a cheap fourcylinder hatchback.

“Both have four wheels and get you to where you want to go, but it is the way you get there that counts," he says.

Kudos Health Club stands out because it is a genuine club, not just a place to exercise, he says.

There is an independent members’ advisory board, which makes recommendations on charitable endeavours, as well as a social club and a popular business directory.

“Generosity is a big part of the club and we actively work to support charity, with the objective to raise money and make a difference for the community,” says Ruck.

“We have a business alliance directory to give our members incentives to trade together and it has a very strong participation in the club and adds real value.”

Ruck, who has been in the fitness industry since his teenage years, says service is a top priority at Kudos Health Club.

“The service level is above what you would experience at a typical gym – our staff know who you are,” he says.

Ruck expects Kudos Health Club to reach 1500 members by October this year. But even should demand continue to increase, a second club is not on the agenda as he believes that would risk undermining the exclusivity of the current facility.
